What causes oily skin?

Oily skin is primarily caused by overactive sebaceous glands that produce excess sebum, a natural oil meant to keep the skin hydrated and protected.

Solutions for combating oily skin:

1. Gentle Cleanser

A gentle cleanser removes excess oil and impurities without stripping the skin. Unclogs pores and reduces the appearance of oiliness.

Solution: > Clean Slate (cream cleanser)

- Willow Bark (natural salicylic acid) - aids cell turnover and clearing pores and alleviating acne and irritated skin.
- Pohutukawa, native to New Zealand, known for its anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial properties.
- Jojoba Oil Beadsaids to remove dead skin cells and unclog pores. Ideal for all skin types, including sensitive. 
Frequency of Use: 1-2 times a day

2.  Clay Mask

Helps remove dead skin cells and excess oils, unclog pores and soothe irritated skin.

Solution: > Glacial Bloom (clay detox mask)

3. Toner

3. Serum

3. Moisturize

Lightweight, non-comedogenic moisturizer that hydrates without adding oil.

Solution: > Coco Lush (oil-free lotion)

- Panthenol - helps improve skin hydration, preventing dryness and promoting a smooth, supple complexion.
Colloidal Oatmeal - anti-inflammatory properties that help soothe and calm irritated skin.
Pohutukawa, native to New Zealand, known for its anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial properties.
- Licorice Root - helps brighten and soothe skin, promoting an even and calm skin tone. 

- Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride (Coconut Ester) - provides a lightweight and non-greasy feel. Ideal for oily or combination skin.
