Frequently Asked Questions
Will this sting or burn?
Pure + Kiwi is built for reactive skin (no “burn to work”). If your barrier is very compromised, introduce one product at a time, start with a small amount and build slowly.
Is this safe for eczema-prone or rosacea-prone skin?
Our routines are designed specifically for eczema-, rosacea-, and flare-prone skin and focus on comfort + barrier support. If you’re unsure, begin with a Discovery Kit so you can test gently before committing to full sizes.
Which cleanser should I choose: Clean Slate or Reset?
- Clean Slate = creamy daily cleanser for sensitive skin that wants a soft, non-stripped finish.
- Reset = cleansing oil for SPF/makeup/pollution days (deep clean without tightness).
I’m acne-prone but sensitive - what’s the best routine?
Go barrier-friendly (not stripping): Reset → Bee Calm → Harmony Crème. This is literally your “clogged pores + sensitive skin” approach.
Set match: Hormonal Breakout Calm Set
Which product is best for redness/rosacea-prone skin?
If you want daily support against triggers:
- Defense calms flare-prone skin and strengthens the moisture barrier
- Luna Crème calm visible redness and post-flare irritation, rebuild a compromised moisture barrier without clogging pores.
Set match: Rosacea-Safe Calm Set (Clean Slate + Defense + Luna Crème).
What should I use for dark circles and fine lines?
If your under-eyes are tired-looking, shadowy, puffy, and creasing, start with Lighten Up. It’s made specifically for sensitive, reactive under-eyes and targets dark circles, puffiness, and fine lines without that stinging “active” feel (and it’s fragrance/essential-oil-free).
Which products help fine lines look softer overall?
For fine lines that look worse when your skin feels tight or dehydrated, pair your eye cream with a face product that supports bounce + firmness + comfort:
Bloom Lift - helps soften early fine lines and support firmer-looking skin, designed for reactive skin.
At night, if you want extra “plump + smooth” support: Luminous - to help smooth fine lines while supporting barrier comfort.
What should I use during a flare?
Morning
- Rinse (lukewarm) or use a very gentle cleanser only if you need it.
- Rescue on damp skin (within 1–2 minutes of rinsing).
- Seal it (optional but great during flares): add 1–2 drops of Restore mixed into the cream in your palm (don’t mix into the jar).
During the day (itch rescue)
- Reapply Rescue to patches as soon as they feel tight/itchy.
- If you’re itchy/hot: cool compress 5–10 minutes, then Rescue again.
- Try not to scratch; press or tap instead.
Night (most important)
- Short lukewarm wash or shower (skip hot water).
- Thicker layer of Rescue on patches.
- Restore “seal” step: 1–2 drops (face)/2–4 drops (body area).
- If hands/feet: cotton gloves/socks overnight helps a lot.
Can you add Restore to body/face cream?
Yes - for flares this is one of the best ways to use it:
- Face: start 1 drop of Restore into your Rescue or Luna Crème (2 drops max if very dry).
- Body patches: 2–4 drops of Restore into a palmful of Rescue per patch/area.
Mix in your hands each time so the cream stays stable and clean.
What to avoid until the flare settles (48–72 hrs+)
- Acids/exfoliants, retinoids, benzoyl peroxide, strong vitamin C
- Fragrance/EO products, scrubs, hot water, new products
Is Rescue for face or body?
Rescue is designed as a barrier repair body butter for very dry, reactive, eczema/psoriasis-prone skin.
For face barrier support, try Harmony Crème (day) or Luna Crème (night).
I’m in my 40s/50s+ and suddenly dry + reactive - what do I choose?
Harmony Crème is your comfort + strength moisturizer for hormonally sensitive/stressed skin.
Golden Oat is your body comfort cream when dryness/itchiness shows up on arms/legs.
Set match: Hormonal Balance Discovery Kit (Reset + Bee Calm + Harmony).
Do oils make clogged pores worse?
Not automatically - the bigger issue is over-stripping + rebound oil + inflammation.
If you’re sensitive and breakout-prone, Restore is designed as an adaptive oil serum to calm redness, support barrier strength, and help balance stressed skin.
What’s the difference between Defense and Restore?
Defense = lightweight daily shield serum for eczema-prone stress + barrier support.
Restore = adaptive oil serum for when skin needs extra comfort + rebalancing.
What should I use in the morning vs at night?
AM (simple):
Step 1 - Gently Cleanse: Clean Slate
Step 2 - Calm: Defense
Step 3 - Seal: Revive Crème
PM (simple):
Step 1 - Gently Cleanse: Clean Slate
Step 2 - Calm: Defense Calm
Step 3 - Seal: Luna Crème
How fast will I see results?
Most people notice comfort quickly (less tight/stripped feeling early on). More visible “steadier” skin typically comes with consistency over 2-4 weeks.
I don’t want to waste money - what’s the safest way to try?
Try our Discovery Kits:
- Eczema + Redness Barrier = Clean Slate + Revive Crème + Rescue
- Hormonal Breakout = Reset + Bee Calm + Harmony Crème
- Overnight Calm = Luminous + Luna Crème
What if I’m already using actives (retinoids/acids/vitamin C)?
Keep Pure + Kiwi as your barrier base and don’t stack multiple “strong” steps on the same night. If your skin is reactive right now, pause extras and rebuild consistency first.
Small-batch care - founder-led guidance
Pure + Kiwi is personal: made with intention, with a brand voice that actually understands reactive skin. You’re not left alone after checkout - we help you use products in a way that supports your barrier and reduces flare risk.
